Marlin Kunard Honored for 50 Years of Service

Gislason & Hunter Attorney Marlin Kunard is being honored by the Minnesota State Bar Association for 50 years of legal service.  A dinner will be held on Thursday April 26 with Supreme Court Justice Lorie Gildea serving as master of ceremonies.

Marlin is graduate of St. Olaf College and Northwestern University School of Law.  He began his career as an Assistant County Attorney before moving into private practice where he specializes in estate planning and trust issues. Many of his clients have been with him through the decades and he is now working with the second and third generation of those families.

In his career he has received awards for distinguished service on the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Board of Governors and an award for professional contribution to the Minnesota Continuing Legal Education.  Kunard was selected as a Minnesota Super Lawyer by Law & Politics in 1999 and 2000, and was appointed a Special Municipal Judge for North Mankato.

Attorney A.R. Pfau III served as Marlin’s mentor and provided some sound advice, “keep your shoes shined and read a little Shakespeare every day.”
