Minneapolis, MN (October 3, 2019) Gislason & Hunter LLP is pleased to announce that Peter B. Stein was recognized by the Judges of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Minnesota for his extraordinary service and leadership as Chair of the Bankruptcy Practice Committee from 2012-2019.
The presentation took place at the 2019 Bankruptcy Institute October 3-4 at the Minneapolis CLE Conference Center in Minneapolis. In January of 2009, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Minnesota appointed a 15-member standing Bankruptcy Practice Committee—a successor to the local Rules Committee—but with an expanded portfolio. The committee’s main functions will be to recommend needed
changes to the Local Rules and to serve as a liaison between the Bankruptcy Court and the bankruptcy community, providing input and suggestions from the bar and the community at large for improving the administration of bankruptcy cases and proceedings in the District of Minnesota.
Stein’s practice emphasizes creditor’s rights in bankruptcy and under the Uniform Commercial Code, commercial loan enforcement and workouts, collateral disposition, SBA matters, bank operations, loan documentation and loan product development. Stein has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers listings each year since 1999 and selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America ©2014 each year since 2014. He has also been the court-appointed Chair of the Bankruptcy Practice Committee of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Minnesota since 2012. He is a member of Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Sections of the Minnesota State Bar Association, an associate member for Minnesota Banker’s Association and Independent Community Bankers of Minnesota and a former member and investigator for the Second Judicial District State Bar Ethics Committee.
